The Action Replay
The Action Replay is vital to the NDS. You can use cheats to get more pokemon.
Here's the guide to the Action Replay:
Action Replay DS
The following cheat codes require Datel Action Replay DS (AR DS) for the Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite.

How to Insert the Cheat Codes
Requirements: Nintendo DS: Action Replay DS Cartridge
Computer: Action Replay Code Manager (Available in the Action Replay DS CD)
Steps
Install the Action Replay Code Manager
Download the Pokemon Diamond Pearl Cheat Codes: XML Version (1,480 KB)
Copy the Pokemon Diamond Pearl Cheats Code Database (XML File) to the "local_codelists" folder in the Installation folder of the Action Replay Code Manager, usually:
C:\Program Files\Datel\Action Replay Code Manager\local_codelists
Transfer the codes to the Action Replay cartridge (Refer to the Video Guide "How to Install The Action Replay DS" for this step)
The following codes are not available in the XML file and needs to be added manually: Event Pokemon, Wild Pokemon Modifier.
Insert Codes
To Insert Additional Codes (Such as the fan-submitted codes: Event Pokemon, Wild Pokemon Modifier)
Install the Action Replay Code Manager
Download the Pokemon Diamond Pearl Cheat Codes: XML Version (1,480 KB)
Copy the Pokemon Diamond Pearl Cheats Code Database (XML File) to the "local_codelists" folder in the Installation folder of the Action Replay Code Manager, usually:
C:\Program Files\Datel\Action Replay Code Manager\local_codelists
In the Action Replay Code Manager, choose your Pokemon Diamond or Pearl game and region in the bottom screen lists
Right click on your Pokemon game name and region, and choose "Add Code"
Simply add the codes in the bottom field and the title of the cheat code in the top field.

How to use the Cheat Codes
Insert the Action Replay Cart in the Nintendo DS
After the Action Replay Cart is fully running (when It says Insert Cartridge), Remove the Action Replay cart without turning off the Nintendo DS and put the Pokemon Diamond or Pokemon Pearl game cartridge.
Now the Action Replay should detect the game, and It will list the available cheats
Select the cheats you would like to use, then start the game.
If some cheats did not work, most likely alot of cheats codes are selected which could interfere with other codes, try to use only one cheat code at a time.

Activating the Cheats Codes
To activate any of the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Items Bag cheat codes
(Pokeballs, Arceus Plates, and any other item that can be found in the Bag):
Select the cheat code you would like to use in the Action Replay main menu, Some cheat codes can only work if they are the only codes enabled (only one), some (like Pokeballs) can be all selected without a problem.
Check your bag, If the items aren't there, press L and R (at the same time) in your Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite while playing Pokemon Diamond or Pokemon Pearl.
Some cheat codes may not work if other cheat codes are selected, It's recommended to only use one cheat code at a time.
